Founded in 2015 under the name of Lightship Security Inc. and headquartered in Ottawa, Canada, this cybersecurity laboratory became part of the Applus+ Laboratories division in 2022.
As an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory, Lightship Security conducts Information Technology Security Evaluation and Testing (ITSET) for Common Criteria and FIPS 140-3 Certification Schemes.
Additionally, this cybersecurity laboratory is recognised by the Canadian Center for Cyber Security and by the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) in the US.
Lighthship Security provides cybersecurity product assessments to test against leading national and international standards, including Common Criteria and FIPS 140-3.
As an accredited Common Criteria laboratory, Lightship Security provides evaluation and consulting for this scheme, this includes certification based on Protection Profiles (PP), Evaluation Assurance Levels (EAL1-4) and other defined cybersecurity objectives.
Recognised worldwide, Common Criteria evaluations performed by Lightship Security grant access to the NIAP PCL listing, required for any product that is to be used in US National Security Systems.
Lightship Security also helps speed up and optimise processes with the help of its Greenlight platform, used to automate testing and speed up the compliance process for Common Criteria certification.
Lightship Security is accredited to validate products under the FIPS 140-3 standard as part of the Cryptographic Module Validation Program (CMVP). This validation ensures that a product's cryptographic algorithms and implementations are in conformance to the standard rigorous requirements prior to being deployed in government agencies and other applications.
Additionally, Lightship has experts in entropy source validation (ESV) and automation tools to facilitate and accelerate the validation process.
