Sealants are used on facades, floor and floor slab joints, glazing and sanitary areas. This product, for example, prevents rainwater from seeping in between the tiles of a terrace, with its consequent damage. Sealants are common and effective, provided they meet certain requirements.

In our laboratories we test adhesives, waterproofing membranes, grouts and now also non-structural sealants. These products require specific certification and CE marking in the European market and UKCA in the UK. 

Balanced Standards: UNE-EN 15651-1, 15651-2, 15651-3 Y 15651-4.

These are the product standards for non-structural sealants use in buildings, according to their purpose:  

  • UNE EN 15651-1:2012: External joints in walls, perimeter joints of windows and doors including the interior-facing side.  
  • UNE EN 15651-2:2012: Joints for glass-glass, glass-frame and glass-porous materials.  
  • UNE EN 15651-3:2012: Joints in sanitary areas inside buildings.  
  • UNE EN 15651-4:2012: Joints in pedestrian areas, public areas, expansion joints between floors, balconies, terraces, warehouses.

  • Reaction to fire
