Applus+ Laboratories completes its first Point of Sale (PoS) evaluation covering PCI-PTS Security certification combined with functional. Our IT lab in Barcelona is one of the few laboratories worldwide accredited to carry out both security and functional in a single place, and the only one that can include Common.SECC certification to this package.
When Point of Sale manufacturers wish to certify their product to reach market compliance, they typically must choose to work in at least two labs. There is an almost historical division between labs that specialize in either cybersecurity evaluations or functional testing. This also means working with two different evaluation teams, either with completely different suppliers or, in some cases, a single company but with different subsidiaries and locations. In the end, that leads to two separate evaluations, with no synergies to speak of.
After becoming an accredited security lab for PCI-PTS, our functional and security teams from our Barcelona lab have worked together to complete their first joint evaluation covering PCI-PTS and several functional schemes.
The experience of first evaluation alongside our wide accreditation portfolio, paved the way to provide a one-stop-shop service.
