The Barcelona materials testing laboratory has achieved official ENAC accreditation for 15 types of tests, proving the quality of its facilities and the expertise of its staff.
The audit has been passed and the papers received. Our new polymer-elastomer accreditations cover 15 test types and 22 test standards, including ASTM D 256, UNE-EN ISO 604, UNE ISO 48 and UNE-EN ISO 75.
New equipment, new approvals
In the last year, we have made substantial investments in state-of-the-art testing machines for polymer characterization and quality assurance. The new equipment, which was used in the audit, includes a brand new Charpy Izod Pendulum, a new Melt Index, new Vicat and Universal testing machines, a new Analytical Balance and a new Barcol Durometer (hardness tester).
The team were observed carrying out tests for strength, hardness, flexibility, density and durability, including resistance to high temperatures, tearing and compression. Although we had already been performing these procedures for more than 30 years, ENAC’s official validation helps to add to the robustness of our service offering.
David Galdeano, our Barcelona Materials Testing Laboratory Manager, commented: “We are delighted to receive ENAC’s official recognition for our polymer testing services. We have an excellent team here and these new accreditations are a testament to the great work they do.”
