Applus+ Laboratories (Notified Body No. 0370 in EU) and Centre for Assessment LTD (Approved Body No. 2551 in UK) reached an agreement that will allow both parties to cooperate and issue the new UK CA and CE markings for construction products to their clients after Brexit.
CfA and LGAI will issue the corresponding certification (UK CA marking or CE marking respectively) and perform reciprocal certification of factory production control conformity assessment related to ‘The Construction Productions Regulations (EU) No 305/2011’ and standard EN 1090-1:2009+A1:2011.
The application of different evaluation marking will add additional non-tariff barriers to trade and therefore, traders can no longer rely on the harmonized EU approach when supplying construction products in the UK. This cooperation agreement will benefit our clients and help minimize the impact of the new double certification caused by the Brexit.
