The Applus+ IoT Lab will allow manufacturers and developers to verify the reliability and security of their IoT solutions and provide end users with a quality guarantee by means of the IoT Certified mark.
Applus+ has launched a new laboratory, the IoT Lab, focused on services for Internet of Things solutions.
This new laboratory combines existing testing and certification services for wireless products with new development support and functional testing services for IoT applications.
An integrated service: from choosing a connectivity technology through to certification
The new Applus+ IoT Lab will be a space where manufacturers and developers can experiment, develop and test their IoT projects to reach a proof of concept.
To achieve this, the IoT Lab features:
- A connectivity zone for experimenting with different IoT data transmission technologies in real conditions: Sigfox, Lora, Weightless, LET-M, NB-IoT, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, etc.
- The necessary tools to develop prototypes which are compatible with these connectivity technologies: development kits, base stations, cloud apps for monitoring and data management, etc.
- Measuring instruments and test equipment to assess the proof of concept and test its functionalities.
Projects developed in the IoT Lab will also benefit from support and advice from our highly-specialised wireless technology and IoT experts.
The IoT Certified mark, a way to guarantee the quality of your product
Once the proof of concept is approved, Applus+ will propose a testing programme adapted to each project’s requirements. The aim is to ensure the regulatory compliance of the different products and devices which make up the IoT solution and to check the overall quality and reliability of the solution as a whole.
After completing this testing programme, manufacturers will be able to access the IoT Certified voluntary certification mark, which provides end-clients technical guarantees as to the quality of the IoT solution.
*Applus+ is an accredited body for testing and certifying wireless products for their access to international markets. We do not provide consulting services aimed at completing these regulatory requirements.
