Applus+ Laboratories Shanghai receives EMV L1 contactless terminals accreditation

    The new accreditation strengthens our Shanghai laboratory’s portfolio of EMVCo terminal evaluations

    Applus+ Laboratories in Shanghai has been accredited by EMVCo to carry out L1 evaluations on contactless payment terminals. In the accreditation, EMVCo accredited the Applus+ PCD Test Bench for the v.2.5 and 2.6 setups. The EMV Contactless Level 1 evaluation tests terminal compliance with mandated analog and digital requirements detailed in the EMV specifications. 
    This accreditation means that Applus+ can now carry out functional testing for a broader range of EMVCo certifications in our Shanghai laboratory, covering L1 contactless and L2 contact payment terminals, expanding our portfolio of EMVCo terminal evaluations. 
    Applus+ in Shanghai now offers an expanded range of EMVCo evaluations. 
    Apart from handling evaluations for both L1 contactless and L2 contact terminals, Applus+ Laboratories in Shanghai also carries out card and terminal evaluations, type approval for EMVCo and a range of payment schemes including Visa, Discover and American Express. It is the only laboratory in China to support terminal vendors for EMVCo L1 Contactless, EMVCo L2 Contact, Visa payWave, Discover DPAS and AMEX ExpressPay evaluations. Applus+ in Shanghai was also the first laboratory to be recognized as best Visa worldwide device laboratory.
