13.01.2011 - Applus+ is a leading company in testing, inspection, certification and technological services and one of the ten top firms worldwide, having obtained acknowledgment by the Ministry of Public Works for its Applus+ LGAI Concrete Marking, as a Quality Award (DOR), following the requirements of Annex 19 of the EHE Structural Concrete Instruction.
This Instruction permits the concrete types that have obtained the Applus+ Marking to be subject to fewer restrictions in dimensioning structures, and to fewer job controls during the work, because during their production phase much more demanding controls are guaranteed than those for regulation concrete types.
In order to obtain the Applus+ Marking, production controls at the factory are intensified, affecting reception of raw materials, the production process as well as the end product. This involves carrying out additional testing on the concrete, both as self-control by the manufacturer as well as by verification of the certification institution, and also audits of the quality management system and inspections of the production control system at the factory.
The concrete types certified with the Applus+ Marking are a guarantee of safety and profitability for promoters, project managers and users. Specifically, thanks to the certification, the safety coefficient is optimized in the calculations, the receiving controls are reduced by a factor of up to ten at the job site and there is a substantial decrease in quality controls justifying calculations.
Through Applus+ LGAI certification and testing division, Applus+ is one of the three largest certification and building services companies in Europe in terms of equipment, and volume of certifications and accreditations. The multinational is a Notified Body number 370 for CE marking and a large part of its activity is accredited by the National Accreditation Institution (ENAC).
