Applus+, the first organisation accredited to certify the installation of post-tensioning systems

    The Applus+ mark, a guarantee of compliance with Spanish structural-concrete regulations
    Applus+ Laboratories (LGAI Technological Center S.A.) has obtained ENAC accreditation to ISO 17065 standards for the certification of the installation of post-tensioning systems. Applus+ is Spain’s first product-certification body to receive this accreditation.
    Companies achieving certification will be able to use the Applus+ mark to demonstrate their compliance with the standards set out in Spain’s Structural Concrete Code (EHE-08), which was approved by Royal Decree 1247/2008 of 18th July.
    The Applus+ certification system incorporates a quality-assurance system covering all installation procedures including injection, as well as verification that the quality-assurance system itself conforms to the prescribed norms.
    Certification requirements include a need for the post-tensioning system to be fully traceable as well as the use of specially trained personnel. In addition, the installing organisation must have a workplace health and safety policy in place, with safeguards exceeding those required by current legislation.
    Applus+ offers a wide range of testing and certification services to manufacturers of building products and materials, helping them to characterize their products and ensure compliance with both Spanish and European legislation.
