This industrial project is aimed at the research, characterization and analysis of new composite hybrid materials (FRP with a sandwich panel core, photo luminescent textiles, intelligent fabric, translucent materials, etc.) with adaptive features in order to give added value and new attributes to the inside of public and private means of transport (cars, planes, trains).
The research focuses on the idea of using advanced materials which will be able to be transformed with new industrial processes based in multilayer technology. These materials will offer enhanced travel experience of the passenger (perceived comfort and visual quality of the environment), reduction of production costs, less environmental impact and sustainability of the "life cycle" of the product with particular attention to the needs of demanding customers to optimize the operation of vehicles.
The project is managed by Rücker-Lypsa, with the participation of APPLUS + in the sub-projects 13, 17 and 18.
Applus + experts work in the investigation and characterization of hybrid materials, prediction of possible failures in these materials, and its subsequent experimental technology demonstration. It participates also in the simulation of comfort in the inside of vehicles.
The project has been funded by MICINN (Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación), program “Proyectos Singulares Estratégicos”, co-funded by FEDER: the operational program “Fondo Tecnológico 2007-2013 por y para el beneficio de las empresas”.
