By choosing the testing service from Applus+ Laboratories, you are choosing a global network of experts. The test reports are evidence of this expertise and show all the results that are important to you.
With the additional item Green Test Report, we support you as a service provider in the area of sustainability to reduce your CO₂ footprint.
In addition to the test report, you will receive an additional certificate from us that documents the CO₂ emissions you have saved per test order. This allows you to demonstrate your commitment to sustainably reducing your CO₂ emissions.
Climate change is undoubtedly one of the greatest challenges that humanity has ever had to face. As a testing service provider, we are familiar with the statutory requirements for your company in the area of climate protection. Reducing our CO₂ footprint is also an essential issue for Applus+ Laboratories.
Another milestone for us: Since January 1, 2025, the Dresden test site in Germany from Applus+ IMA has only been using electricity from 100% renewable energy sources. This means that we do not use electricity products such as coal, natural gas or nuclear energy to operate the test benches and our own infrastructure in Dresden (Germany).
If you choose our Green Testing at Applus+ IMA, you will receive a document from us with the test report that shows the CO₂ sales you have saved and is therefore proof of your efforts to reduce your company's CO₂ emissions.
Based on the electricity mix used in 2024 and the associated increased CO₂ emissions, the use of renewable electricity in 2025 will result in a reduced CO₂ balance, given the same demand.
The green electricity used for your testing order with the lower CO₂ emissions is determined proportionally on the basis of the total electricity consumption and sales in 2024. The calculation is based on the service area offered for material, part, component and structural testing.
The CO₂ saved in this way reduces your Scope 3 and thus demonstrates your efforts to minimize your company's CO₂ footprint.
For Scope 2 of Applus+ IMA, this means a reduction in emissions of 2,642.62 tons in relation to electricity. To compensate for the emission of this amount of CO₂ in the air/atmosphere, 207,609 trees would be necessary.
The amendment to the Federal Government's Climate Protection Act stipulates that Germany's greenhouse gas emissions must be reduced by 65% by 2030 compared to 1990. The country is planned to be greenhouse gas neutral by 2045.
Emissions themselves are divided into three different scopes. Scope 1 includes all emissions that a company directly causes. For example, when burning fossil fuels or causing CO₂ emissions in production. Scope 2 summarizes the emissions that arise from the purchase of energy. And Scope 3, in turn, summarizes all other indirect emissions that arise along the value chain. This also includes when commissioning services, such as auditing.
The Greenhouse Gas Protocol was developed to calculate how these emissions are to be calculated. This makes it possible to determine which Scope 3 emissions are generated and how they can be sustainably reduced.
Includes direct emissions from sources under the control of each company.
Describes the emissions generated by purchased energy - electricity and heat.
Includes the emission of all products and services that are required from external sources for the company.
